September 25, 1952 -
September 14, 2023
Born on September 25, 1952 in Newport Beach, California. Died at home in Sebastopol of pancreatic cancer on September 14, 2023.

Debra is survived by her husband Bill and her four children, son Dell (Tasha) Dellinger, daughter Jacqueline (Johann) Dellinger-Hall, son John S. Kuziara, and daughter Camille R. Kuziara. She is also survived by her five grandchildren Ashlan, Lakely and Reverie Dellinger and Mallory and Weston Hall.

Debra grew up in Laguna Beach and Ganesha Hills, California. Her father, John F. Parsons, M.D. died when she was 11 years old. Debra, the youngest of five, bonded together with her mother, Vivian Knox, and her siblings to keep the family going during difficult times. Debra graduated from Claremont High School in 1970 and went on to graduate from Sonoma State University with a B.A. in History in 1974. She continued her education at University of San Francisco with a Master's in Education and a counseling credential in 1993.

Debra worked as a counselor in several Sonoma County schools over the next 30 years, including her favorite, Monte Rio Elementary, for the last 9 years. As a counselor, Debra was thoughtful, kind, and a great listener. She formed friendship circles for new students and for children with similar interests and issues. She said you can help a child by listening to them, staying calm, and never quitting on them. On October 10, 2023 Monte Rio School and community held a celebration of Debra's life and legacy for her dedication to the school and the needs of the children and families.

On June 8, 1984, Debra and Bill met outside of Fiori's Restaurant in Santa Rosa. It was love at first sight. Together Debra and Bill moved to Sebastopol to raise their four children, where their home welcomed family and friends. Debra was a gifted, gracious hostess and a great cook with a fun sensor of humor. She made all feel welcomed in her home.

Debra had a beautiful smile to put people at ease. She was warm and kind, and gave generously of herself to make others comfortable. Debra was happiest making others happy. Debra's family was everything to her and she gave everything to her family. She was a loving wife and mother. She was there at every play, open house, concert, baseball and soccer game to support her children and grandchildren. She served on the Board of Trustees for Pleasant Hill Unified School District and volunteered in her children's classrooms. She was deeply loved by her family and friends. She was a true and loyal friend to many, including her Book Club friends Bev, Maryann, Linda, Rachel, among others.

At Debra's request, her ashes will be scattered at sea in Laguna Beach at the scene of many wonderful family vacations. The family asks that you plant bulbs in lieu of flowers. A celebration of life will be held at a future date.
